Create using thick chunky impasto paint with your palette knife to gain essential skills and techniques in this fun and creative artistic experience. It’s all covered here, mediums, colours, composition and all under Don’s watchful eye and expert guidance. We explore lots of unusual painting techniques in a friendly and nurturing environment. and so much more… Simple but effective techniques you can confidently take away and use again at home.
Day 1..
Applying and developing palette knife painting techniques, lovely thick chunky paint for mark making, with best use of mediums for great results. Begin with thin layers then add thick, heavy paints for some amazing impasto (Thick paint) effects. Let’s get started creating our very own ‘painting fantastic’ where you will use what you are learning into your own painting
Day 2..
Begin your second ‘painting fantastic’ with a whole days to complete it. Apply and consolidate all your new techniques whilst learning good colour mixing, mediums and how to use, palette knife with various brush techniques, textures and lots more. Things you just don’t get from books.
You will learn:
- New ways to paint using thick impasto paint
- How to prepare and get started.?
- What makes a great painting and how to achieve it using the palette knife.?
- Understanding and applying good composition
- Essential techniques explained and then applied
- How to interpret photo reference. What to use and what to leave out and why.?
- Apply your new creative process for exciting and visually interesting paintings
