Beautiful and very rugged Turtle Cove (Near Mackay in Queensland on Australia's East Coast) is a spectacular location to visit and paint. Jagged rocks silhouette against steep rocky slopes and distant misty mountains create depth and frame it all. The monolithic rock form in the foreground looked like some strange creature had crawled ashore and is now sitting and resting momentarily on the beach before it re-enters the waters again. Simply irresistible for a fertile mind and an artist like myself.
