My imaginings follow. 
All the fruit gather around as close as they can to their favourite in the group. An apple who is a little pompous and full of itself and has begun to expect this sort of attention from all those in the group. The water jar, copper tray and its old and ‘not so perfect’ doily add to this simple, but interesting stage on which all the fruit actors can play out their roles.
